Dance Macabre - Charlotte Malcolm Smith

18 Novembre 2022 - 15 January 2023
Haus der Stadtgeschichte Offenbach

The artist Charlotte Malcolm-Smith draws her material from art history, archives, print and pop media and creates a coherent work from these visual references of foreign works. Central to this is the idea of the mind: an out-of-time fusion of body and soul, a reflection of our darkest fantasies and a projection screen for irrational desires, as a counter-narrative to fact-based science. For the industrial hall in the Haus der Stadtgeschichte, the artist has created a kinetic installation made up of assembled objects and images. – The artist, born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1966, studied with Christa Näher at the Hochschule für Bildende Kunst / Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and has lived in Offenbach am Main for many years.
