TSATSAS. past present future

1 April 2022 - 26 March 2023
Deutsches Ledermuseum Offenbach

High-quality products from Offenbach’s leather-making workshops have from the very outset formed an important section of the Deutsches Ledermuseum collection. Today, the museum continues to believe that one of its key tasks is to promote outstanding leather-working designers. It is in this context that Deutsches Ledermuseum will from spring 2022 onwards be hosting the show TSATSAS. past, present, future on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the designer label.

Since 2012, Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas have been creating leather bags and accessories that are well outside the conventional fashion designs and possess a persuasive formal vocabulary of their own. The exhibition focuses on presenting the many different sides to the creative work process, from the initial idea and the transformation of a traditional artisanal craft to the sources of cultural inspiration in contemporary art, design, architecture and even music. These are also reflected in the products that are the result of fruitful collaboration with architects such as Sir David Chipperfield and designers such as Dieter Rams.
