Artist lithograph Walter Schautz shows his life's work, which he recently donated to the collection of the House of City History. Coincidence and fascination brought him to lithography in 1959. With perseverance, he stuck to this technique throughout his life. He was fascinated by the line in dry chalk, the mobility of the medium in full-tone areas and painterly areas with liquid inks in nuances and the transparency of the color. The exhibition is paired with a first cross-section of the works created from the two-and-a-half-year printing workshop in the Bernardbau under workshop manager Dominik Gußmann. Walter Schautz gave his large KRAUSE toggle-joint machine for lithography to the workshop in 2020.
