Antiquity to Modern Art

The Städel Museum is the oldest and most important museum foundation in Germany with a collection comprising art from over seven centuries. Its highly respected temporary exhibitions have won the museum unparalleled acclaim in the international art world. The Städel’s collection is harmoniously supplemented by those of other art museums devoted to particular periods or aspects of art history such as the Liebieghaus with its sculpture collection, the Ikonen-Museum (Icon Museum), the Dommuseum (Cathedral Treasury Museum), and the MUSEUM GIERSCH der Goethe-Universität which presents temporary exhibitions on the art of the Rhine-Main region.
