SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT is one of the most renowned and high-profile exhibition venues in Europe.
SCHIRN is located between Dom and Römer, in the heart of Frankfurt directly next to the Frankfurt’s new Old Town. The exhibition programme is wide-ranging, international, and progressive and aims to open up new ways of seeing and breaking with traditional patterns of reception. SCHIRN focuses primarily on topics related to the history of art and culture, discourses, and trends from the perspective of the contemporary era.
The exhibitions at SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT address both contemporary artistic positions and the art of Modernism.
The Römerberg location is currently closed. With the energy-efficient renovation of its main building on Römerberg, the SCHIRN will temporarily move to the former Dondorf printing works in Bockenheim starting in summer 2025.
